The killing of the snake

The figure of the snake, as is known, is often seen as a symbol of evil. For this reason, frequently, in the old traditions are in opposition to it a positive symbol (a god, an angel, a saint) who fights and kills the reptile


In Greek mythology, Apollo-sun-god-kill with his bow the terrible serpent Python, near a cave where the snake was hiding.

Also well known is the legend of Saint George defeating the dragon with his spear, free Selem city and its people from the oppression of the monster.
