O manic - depressive paranoid disorder

by Dr. G. Barone

in the subject alternate two phases of mood: a phase of depression and a feeling of euphoria.
  • depressive phase: talemnte the mood is negative and sad to bring a sense of anxiety (the concept of nothingness and death). All is dark in the eyes of the subject, there is despair. The subject experiences the sad event with great suffering that leads him to feel a great sense of fatigue, hypersomnia or insomnia, catatonia (immobility), increase or reduction of appetite, poor concentration, verbal communication slows down, is confusing and not very lucid, the subject has little memory, is discouraged, pessimistic, with little (or lose) self-esteem, cries easily.
  • manic phase: everything becomes important and urgent to do, even if briefly. This phase can lead to long term to a sense of anguish. Happiness turns to euphoria. The subject experiences moments of total optimism, speeds up the actions, gestures, thoughts and words. The subject is extremely irritable and can present state of delirium and hallucinations. E 'distracted by the details, underestimate the dangers.
